A grim Future with potential for Utopian outcomes, where Humanity has been forced to transfer their consciousness into machines to evade extinction by a virus. The sick heavily envy the healthy and therefor try to infect as many as possible in their blind fever rage, utilizing the leftover energy to get some sort of twisted redemption like satisfaction since there is no cure. 

Sacrificing the organic life as we know it is no easy decision. Not everyone is willing to take the leap, but the consequences of not transitioning are slow and painful death in blind rage. To avoid Mental health issues from transitioning too quick (for example identity crisis, psychosis, dissociation in many forms), humanity has come up with the idea to connect the existing brain to an emulated additional layer that would grow over time to gradually replace real brain tissue. The idea behind that is if you replace every part of a wooden ship with metal over time, it is still the same ship but made of another material. Humans who have started their transitioning journey are called cyborgs and those who finished are defined as P.H.E.I (Post Human Emulated Intelligence) or cydroids.

The market for transitioning, Remote Controlled Vessels and Emulated Intelligence Hosting is dominated by two major corporations (I wonder where he got THAT idea...)

Obscurinati - A company that does everything possible to minimize neccesary monitoring of cydroid activity to protect their privacy, developing maintenance free server management and renewable energy sources as well as utilizing radioactive waste as emergency energy supply.  This company has started as a crowdfunded project and many who end up on the servers join the cause willingly, fighting for the right to not share information and post-human rights as symbolized by the closed eye logo.

demcorp - This company is a little different, although they utilize more and more renewable energy their main source of energy is coming from our planet's core. They might not value the privacy of post humans as much as their rival, but they are the first to attempt transitioning infected with success. People who end up on their servers also get offered a work place inside the facilities,because  they fear their phei would loose mental health from boredom. Therefor heavy automation is a big nono for this company as well as privacy for crime preventive reasons, sadly this place is ruled mainly by the fears of their owners.

this is not a game just a rough idea of the world I would like to create arround an upcoming game
